FTW - WTF
A downloadable game for Windows
Fire To Water - Water To Fire!
This is a game developed by teachers at Howest - Digital Arts & Entertainment while they were supervising the Unwrap 2025 Game Jam.
During the first day of the Jam, Kasper Geeroms and Jan Mentzel decided to paper prototype a small board game in the theme "Spread it". Alex Vanden Abeele got intrigued and decided to program the game so we could hand it in as a submission to the game jam.
The next day Jorge Monterrubio joined and provided the handpainted artwork. We were not able to put all the art in as there is extremely little time available to us supervisors during the jam :)
Dylan De Waele provided us with some soundpacks to add a tiny bit of sound, but again: time was against us. All in all I believe this game was made in about 8 hours :)
The game plays as follows: each player starts with 4 elements and they should spread it onto the green field of the opposing player.
Spreading is possible in cells that have two neighboring elements in the same direction.
Each turn you receive two extra elements to place, you don't have to place them each turn though! You can save up to 7 elements.
You can jump over one opposite element! Jumping does not count as spreading, you can't win with a jump.
You can even jump over more opposite elements (fire over water here) but it'll cost you: the number of elements to jump over +1 (so three in this example)
You win by spreading (not jumping) into the oppponent's green area
